Snow days: We close the school if there is no electricity. If you cannot make it to school safely please stay home and be safe! If the weather is extreme we will have lesson plans for the students so that they can continue their studies at home and the younger students will be given "snow packages". In the past there have been school closures that lasted up to a week (though that has occurred a few times).
Snow clothes: Snow pants, coats, boots and gloves are a must for students who want to sled or play in the snow during the winter!
Book fees: The book fees are not refundable! Tuition is incredibly low due to the amazing teachers who give their time. Book fees are not just used for books. Book fees are used for; printer consumables, computer maintenance, special equipment (projectors, sound systems, theater lighting, etc.). We are able to keep tuition low by: recycling books, parent help in maintaining the building, student help in cleaning on Fridays and by being frugal!
Potato Day: A traditional fall party for our school. Potato celebrations, celebrating the potato harvest, are found in various parts of the world. The tradition is for each family to bring a potato dish and we have a potluck together. The students dress up for fun, but they are not allowed to wear the traditional Halloween costumes. We also have games in the afternoon and decorate potatoes.
Rabbits: We have a fun tradition of saying: "Good Morning Rabbits and the persons name" This tradition was started by Ron and Peggy (our founders) and it was brought from England by their son Mike. It is just for fun and helps generate some laughter and smiles (you have to be there).
Secretary: We do not have a secretary. the teachers or the students will answer the phone. We try to respond as quickly as we can.
Grades: Grades usually take two weeks to come out after the quarter ends.
